There's been a lot going on lately, which is why I haven't updated for about 2 months...

So in March, three of my artworks were selected to be in the Annual Juried UTEP Student Art Exhibition, which is a student show at my university. I ended up winning an award called the Sara & Tom Lea Purchase Award for Best Life Painting!

These three were the ones that were picked and displayed in the gallery. The one in the middle won the award!


My family and friends were there with me during the opening show when I won the award. I was happy to be with them, and proud of myself...

I also went to visit Los Angeles a couple weeks ago. My boyfriend took me and we had such an awesome time...! We saw Metric in concert, went to the MOCA museum and saw some wonderful contemporary art, visited Universal Studios and even stopped by the beach <3 So fun...

In the meantime I've still been working on the comic, Abaddon-Lethes Futility for Phi3 Comics. I wish I wasn't so slow! But it's still coming along...it should be done in a little while.

Also, another thing which I am excited about, I'm going to be in the artist alley at FanimeCon, the anime convention in San Jose, California! It will be my first large convention; I've only gone to local anime conventions so far. It is at the end of May. I'm trying to get everything ready! I'm super anxious about going.

So I will definitely be working on some drawings and stuff for Fanime. I haven't been drawing anime much lately, just mostly doodling it in my sketchbook. I think I need a break from traditional stuff so it will be fun to draw some of it again. But I've been working on some more paintings and drawings at school, so once I take some pictures I should be uploading those in a little bit. More art will definitely be coming soon, so I'll update on that later
